In the quiet town of Twin Lakes, Susan Delgrave takes her husband to school, her mind on the good news she hopes to get from her doctor. She wasn't expecting to walk into the arms of a killer.
Although Susan was the first victim, she wasn't going to be the last. Detective Barbara Hobkins is assigned to the case, and is the only one who is convinced that the deaths are connected...the work of a very twisted serial killer. Now it's up to her to track down the culprit before he gets to her first.

Sutton Miller is actually the pen name of Maryann Miller and Margaret Sutton, who have joined together to create a truly fascinating mystery. There are plenty of suspects to keep you guessing and plot twists galore. As an added shiver-inducing bonus, we get glimpses into the killer's mind as his madness escalates and he plans his next murder.

At only just over 150 pages, there's no room for the story to drag, so it races along in top gear to the ultimately surprising conclusion. Miller's story is strong, her characters loveable and convincing, and her climax a definite shocker. Altogether a great read and one I plan on recommending to my women's reading group.
However, it's best to set aside a few hours to read Doubletake, because once you get started, it's very hard to stop. I actually had to sit in the parking lot of the hospital to finish it because I couldn't wait the 3 minutes it took to drive home and curl up on the couch!
